CHATHAM — A landscaping truck caught fire Saturday afternoon, temporarily shutting down a road, according to Chatham fire Capt. Nelson Wirtz.
The Fire Department was called to Middle Road around 12:30 p.m., Wirtz said. When crews arrived, they found the truck’s engine compartment and cab on fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the truck was towed from the scene.
The driver got out of the truck when he noticed flames coming from the engine, Wirtz said. He was not injured.
Middle Road was closed until the truck could be towed, Wirtz said.
