BARNSTABLE — State public health officials confirmed Monday that two new COVID cases were reported in Barnstable County, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases on Cape Cod to 1,898.

No new cases were reported in Dukes or Nantucket counties, where the cumulative cases to date are 171 and 133 respectively.

Statewide, there were 827 newly confirmed cases Monday afternoon, bringing the total number of positive coronavirus cases statewide to 141,474.

The state Department of Public Health reported Monday that there are 500 patients statewide currently hospitalized with COVID-19, with 86 patients being cared for in intensive care units and 33 patients intubated.

There were no patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Cape Cod, Nantucket Cottage and Martha’s Vineyard hospitals Monday. Falmouth Hospital has one patient hospitalized with the virus.
