The Martha’s Vineyard boards of health reported two new coronavirus cases on the Island Friday, bringing the total case count to 113 as the week came to an end.
The weekly report issued Friday includes a detailed breakdown of cases, showing 89 cases confirmed through PCR tests, while the rest were either probable cases or antibody positive. One of the new cases is a man in his forties, the other is man in his fifties, according to the report.
The confirmed laboratory cases include 37 were men and 52 women.
The report also detailed linked cases, showing 37 per cent of cases that were linked to another case. To date the Vineyard has not experienced any significant community spread of the virus.
Statewide there were new worries, with the state Department of Public Health reporting 968 new cases Friday, bringing the total to 144,895. There were 19 new deaths from Covid-19 in Massachusetts.
It marked the second straight day that the number of new cases had exceeded 900.
