An unexpected find on Circuit Avenue Extension – Juice By the Sea, a little gem that offers so much more than juice. You’ll find coffee, sweet treats, vegan dishes, great food and more. It is a place where you can find food that nourishes your body, and a staff that is passionate about healthy food. This is a story that makes for a wonderful addition to our We Love MV series — WE LOVE MV: Juice By the Sea – the Island’s Vegan Luncheonette & More.

Juice By the Sea | 7 Circuit Avenue Extension, Oak Bluffs

On July 19th, Juice By the Sea opened in Oak Bluffs, and was immediately wowed by the support of its year round clients and Summer visitors. Year round you may ask? Well, throughout the year, co-owner Andrea Peraino and chef Tanya Chipperfield have been offering juices, juice cleansings and “Plant to Plate” meals for people looking to change their eating. Juice By the Seas has become well known as a resource for eating healthy on the Island.

Now with its doors open, more and more people are able to experience just how good vegan eating can be. To think that you can have a donut that is loaded with healthy ingredients or a brownie that is actually good for you. It’s hard to believe that such decadent things can be healthy!

WE LOVE MV: Eat Deliciously & Healthy

Andrea, her partner/boyfriend, Brooke, and Tanya are thrilled to be bringing delicious, healthy food to the Island year round. If you stop in for breakfast, you might be able to grab one of their donuts, which sell out super fast, gluten free bagels, a Raspberry Chia Breakfast Bowl, Pink Avocado Toast (sold out by the time I stopped by), or one of their smoothies. These are just a couple of their options.

Since there was no avocado toast, I opted for a smoothie. Andrea recommenced the Ambrosia Berry Smoothie for me. I had asked for one that would help me feel a little better and clear minded as I was in a bit of a funk that morning. This smoothie has lots of good ingredients like strawberries, dragonfruit, beet root, banana, raspberries, lucuma and plant based collagen. It was definitely delicious and mood boosting – the color alone makes you happy. I should note that I dislike all things beets, but this smoothie.

Grab and Go at Juice By the Sea

Juice By the Sea is especially known for its juice and smoothies. Both of which are an easy way to help you feel better by nourishing your body. It’s amazing how the right combination of foods can help you both physically and mentally.

But there’s more than breakfast, at Juice By the Sea you can grab lunch too. You’ll find ready to go salads, soups, sandwiches and the very popular Sesame Peanut Noodles. I was lucky enough to grab one of those. Loaded with goodness – organic rice noodles, crispy vegetables, homemade ginger sesame sauce, chopped peanuts and fresh herbs – it’s a filling, healthy way for a grab and go lunch.

Don’t forget to grab something sweet like their Double Chocolate Brownies – gluten free, with lots of good things like pecans, cacao and vegan chocolate chips. It tasted totally unhealthy to me and my family had no idea it was actually good for them! Score one for Juice By the Sea!

WE LOVE MV: Don’t Forget About Coffee

If you think about coffee in Oak Bluffs, you think of Mocha Mott’s or Tony’s but it’s time to add Juice By the Sea to your coffee shop rotation. Chilmark Coffee Co. and Beanstock Coffee Roasters are their featured beans. You can have coffee opt for a signature Adaptogen Latte.

What’s an Adaptogen Latte? It’s latte that is loaded with things that are good for you. Next time I need a coffee while in town, I plan to try the Nor’Easter Latte which has activated charcoal and vanilla bean. Sounds so intriguing. If you like hot chocolate, how about their Warming Hot Chocolate within cinnamon, ginger, cayenne, mace, and raw cacao. It’s a good thing when you can use one of your favorite beverages as a vehicle for added nutrients.

WE LOVE MV: Juice By the Sea + Arrowhead Farm

Juice By the Sea’s menu items are chocked full of goodness, especially fresh veggies. Did you know that they have their own garden at Arrowhead Farm in West Tisbury? Many of the veggies they use are Island grown. One more reason to fall in love with Juice By the Sea.

WE LOVE MV: More Than Healthy Food

For Andrea the food at Juice By the Sea is not just for fun or for work. Her passion is making clean eating delicious and easily available to people. She has an autoimmune disorder that she has managed to keep under control because of how she eats. She knows first hand how healing food can be. Having a retail space, a vegan luncheonette as she fondly refers to it, is a dream come true. She is very happy here.

She is sharing her passion and helping others experience the benefits of eating well. How you eat is so important to your health, and healthy eating has come a long way. With the food at Juice By the Sea, it’s easy to see how you could add more plant based meals to your diet and feel satisfied, even gourmet!
