Celebrating its 10th year, the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite had its best fundraising year to date. With the help of so many, we were able to raise, $49,852 for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club’s Healthy Happy Kids food program.

In this year that held a number of unprecedented events and challenges, we saw a level of generosity that was unlike any we’ve seen before. What a way to end 2020, and help make a real difference for the food insecurity issues hundreds of children face on Martha’s Vineyard — made worse by the pandemic.
Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary With Its Best Fundraising Year To Date – From $25,000 To $45,000+
We started with what we hoped to be a realistic goal, $25,000, but almost met that goal on Giving Tuesday alone, when we kicked off the annual holiday fundraiser. We were so inspired that we set the goal to $40,000, and then even surpassed that. Amazed and even more hopeful, we went back to our dream goal of $45,000, which underwrites the entire Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club’s Healthy Happy Kids after school free food program.
What happened next surprised us all. We were able to raise $49,852. This is the most we have raised in any year with the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite, bringing our 10 year total to $265,850! What an incredible impact this holiday event full of splendor and joy has had on the growth and success of the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club. It has become a consistent source of revenue to fund one of the most significant portions of its after school program, Healhty Happy Kids.

The pandemic has greatly impacted the Club and how many children it can serve and help. As the virus starts to lessen its threat, the Club will have to mobilize quickly to again accommodate hundreds of children every week. We know that so many of the kids are waiting to go back to the Boys & Girls Club after school. There they can play, learn, have access to healthy food, and so much more.
Because of your generosity, we are able to help make the transition back to the Club easier for so many Island children. Thank you so much to everyone who donated online, at Teddies Around Town, and by participating in the 6th Annual Teddy Bear Trot. We are so beary happy to have been able to have our most successful Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite fundraiser, and look forward to next year’s event.
