Though it’s been a challenging year, we have been seeing a number of new businesses opening on Martha’s Vineyard. Right around the corner from our Point B Realty offices in Edgartown Village, Botanical Beauty recently opened its doors for the season.
Clean Beauty at Botanical Beauty On Martha’s Vineyard – Meet The Owner
Rachel Soknic of Botanical Beauty had dreamed of opening her own boutique spa. Over the past couple of years, she has been lucky to find space within other businesses on the island and continue to work with her clients, providing incredible skincare and treatments. However, she wanted a place to truly call her own.
In January 2021, she began to look at some options. People suggested she look at a place on North Summer Street in Edgartown. However she had only seen the space when it was the home of the Boys & Girls Club Secondhand Store. Which if you remember was a little dark and cluttered.
When Rachel went to see the space, it looked so different. It was bright and had the most beautiful gleaming hardwood floors. Her grandpa working in flooring, and these beautiful floors reminded her of him, and she knew this was the space for her. She was able to secure this amazing place that already felt like home for her business and continue to grow Botanical Beauty.
Clean Beauty at Botanical Beauty On Martha’s Vineyard – A New Boutique Spa Opens
Welcome to Botanical Beauty, a beautiful boutique spa. When you walk though the doors, you feel a little lighter, and happier. The space is just lovely. Botanical Beauty is all about clean, healthy beauty. Rachel is a wholistic aesthetician. She offers treatments that are unique to the individual. Since everyone’s skin is different, so are the treatments that will be most beneficial to their skin.
Currently, Botanical Beauty offers various facials, lashlifts, and waxing. Rachel will also be adding to the services. Expect to see treatments like therapeutic massage and other practices like reiki. Rachel wants people to think of Botanical Beauty as a place of relaxation and self-care. A place that you look forward to experiencing.
Clean Beauty at Botanical Beauty On Martha’s Vineyard – Product Line
Rachel offers a carefully curated selection of clean beauty products in her boutique spa. Some to mention are Mara, an algae-based skincare line, and Green Envee. The products are clean, free of harsh chemicals, come from smaller companies (many female-owned), and have eco-friendly packaging. More product will be coming to the shelves as it comes in, and I should mention that the products are priced pretty moderately.
While there, I learned about a few beauty tricks. Rachel is so passionate about sharing her knowledge of caring for your skin. For example, I learned that it’s good to clean your skin with an oil cleanser and then cleanse again with another cleanser. Once your skin is dry and clean, apply your skin serum or lotion and use a quartz roller to help work it into the skin and stimulate your blood flow and lymphatic drainage. I left with a whole new beauty routine! Next time I think I will get the Ice Roller!
Also, she has these stunning jade and rose quartz eye masks which are meant to calm the skin and awaken eyes. They are so feel amazing!!!! Ah the joy of spoiling your skin! Botanical Beauty makes it easy to do so!
