Since 2014, the Point B Realty Team has been participating in the Vineyard Conservation Society’s Annual Earth Day Beach Clean-up. That first year, we came up with a name for our team event B Good to the Earth – Point B Realty Annual Earth Day Beach Clean-Up.

This year, the team came together to help clean Edgartown Lighthouse Beach. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful, sunny day. Still a little chilly, but blue skies and the view of that iconic Edgartown Lighthouse made it a wonderful spring day.

Heading out to Edgartown Lighthouse Beach

The Vineyard Conservation Society has been hosting its Earth Day Beach Clean-Up for 30 years. You will find volunteers with bags and gloves for people to use for gathering trash at 27 Island beaches. This year, Point B team members Tina Miller, and Trish Lyman suggested that we bring our own paper bags — such a great idea!

From the Point B team, we had Win Baker, Wendy Harman, Susan Harman Bass, Erin Leighton Huckins and her family, Susie Wallo, Leah Fraumeni, Andrew Noble, Alexandra Mark, Trish Lyman, Tina Miller, and myself. We were also joined by some friends too! The more the merrier when it comes to keeping our beaches clean! We came up with our plan on how to cover as much beach as possible and split off into pairs, and headed all the way down past Fuller Street Beach.

From balloons to fishing line to bottles and cans, and even oyster baskets, we gathered a good amount of trash — trash that will not end up in the surrounding waters.

This is one of our favorite team activities. For Point B, it is important that we are not only striving to be the best for our sales and rental clients but also to help engage our team and our sense of community. Added bonus, we all get along very well, so it is always fun getting together outside the office.

Not just on Earth Day, but every day, it’s important that we all do our part to keep Martha’s Vineyard clean. The natural beauty of the Island is one of the things that makes Martha’s Vineyard Special.
