The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

April 22

Tad Medeiros, 36, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on an April 15 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery on a family or household member. Defendant released on payment of $200 bail and with further conditions of no abuse of alleged victim and stay away from and have no contact if a 209A is in place. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 16.

April 29

Renato Deoliveira, 29, of Edgartown, was arraigned on April 24 charges in Edgartown of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Defendant released on personal recognition and payment of $150 counsel fee and $50 counsel contribution. Pretrial hearing set for July 1.

Shane M. Tank, 33, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a March 28 charge in Vineyard Haven of animal cruelty. Not guilty plea entered and defendant released on personal recognizance with further condition to stay away from and have no contact with alleged victim (a puppy). Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 1.

May 2

Shane K. True, 40, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on April 30 charges in Oak Bluffs of defacing property, a subsequent offense of disorderly conduct and threatening to commit a crime (to wit murder). Defendant released on personal recognition, payment of $150 counsel fee and with further conditions to stay away from The Cardboard Box and abide by curfew of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 15.

Sean S. Steves, 59, listed as homeless by the court, was arraigned on May 1 charges in Edgartown of assault and battery on a family or household member and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Defendant released with further conditions to stay away from and have no contact with alleged victim. Pretrial hearing set for May 20.
