The ICA and the MFA will both offer free admission on Monday, May 30.
To celebrate Memorial Day, area museums will offer free admission on May 30. The trend started in 2013, when the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) offered free admission on April 16 following the Boston Marathon bombing, and again that Memorial Day weekend.
The MFA will again offer free admission on Memorial Day. Some of the museum’s special exhibits visitors can check out this spring include “Turner’s Modern World,” “Real Photo Postcards: Pictures from a Changing Nation,” and “Philip Guston Now.”
The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) will also offer free admission on Memorial Day. Visitors should know that advanced timed tickets are required and tickets will be available online starting 24 hours before the event. Exhibits on view at the ICA include Roxbury resident Napoleon Jones-Henderson’s solo exhibit and Bárbara Wagner and Benjamin de Burca’s “Swinguerra.” ICA admission also includes a free water shuttle ride to and from the Watershed exhibit in East Boston.
