Walking down Main Street in Vineyard Haven, you come to the corner where Mad Martha’s used to be, and you are immediately drawn in to the new business that’s there, S&S Kitchenette. Through the large open windows, you will see lots of color and fun items of, including a great eye-catching wall paper statement wall. Thoughtfully selected display pieces have been placed throughout the space with foodie and dry goods that are sure to delight. It’s a feast for the senses.
S&S Kitchenette is the newest endeavor by Chef Spring Sheldon. This has been in the making for years for her and the opportunity finally came about. She now has a fabulous retail space that is open to the public! A space to host intimate pop-up dinners and her takeaway foods. Added bonus, her commercial kitchen is located in the building as well.
Spring is well known for her delicious food. She is selective with her ingredients, thoughtful with flavor combinations and is never boring with her food presentation. In addition to S&S Kitchenette, she has El Gato Grande taco food truck, and has a full service catering business that is in demand. She is a busy woman!
S&S Kitchenette Retail
At S&S Kitchenette you can find some truly unique and fun things. How about a grow-your-own mushroom kit from North Spore Mushrooms, specialty sardines or Merry Farm Pottery Most of the items carried are from small female owned business. As a female business owner, Spring understands the significance of this support. Also, it’s a bit of a family affair – you can get Summer flowers here by Land Ho! Farm which is Spring’s sister’s farm. They tend to go quickly because where else can you get beautiful flowers right in town!
There are all sorts of things to discover at S&S Kitchenette – stop in often – new items are coming throughout the season.
S&S Kitchenette Takeaway
At S&S, you can find chef prepared takeaway meal kits to take home to heat and eat. The team here has taken care of all the prep for you. Think scrumptious chicken tikka masala, fresh pasta dishes like carrot cavatelli with bolognese or mushroom ragu – sounds so good right? Enjoy a chef prepared meal in the comfort of your own home. Grab a couple and have friends over – they’ll be delighted by the dishes.
There are also great lunch options for grab and go or you can sit at the fabulous communal table and enjoy the surroundings.
S&S Kitchenette Pop-Ups
In addition to Spring’s takeaway food, be on the look out for guest chefs and restaurants on Wednesdays throughout the summer for the S&S Pop-Up series. So far, there has been a couple Island Ramen nights, what looked to be an amazing ramen dinner, Burger Night with Stoney Hill Pizza (more than pizza), and a Lebanese Feast by Epicure.
Pop-Ups that are coming Wednesdays this Summer include Greek, Mexican, Thai, Indian, Chinese, Coastal Italian and tacos!
During these pop-ups folks are able to sit and enjoy their meal at S&S (BYOB). The vibe here is definitely Island chic, and what better way to enjoy a night on the Vineyard with old friends and new friends.
Also, if you are looking for something fun to do on Mondays, S&S offers local oysters tastings with a new oyster bar company – OutKast Oyster Bar. You may have seen one of the owners, Quinn Keefe, shucking oysters up at the new Homeport. OutKast works hard to get the freshest, local oysters for your to enjoy.
