Smithsonian Magazine’s 18th annual Museum Day takes place Sept. 17.
Several New England museums will once again offer free admission on a single day in September, thanks to Smithsonian Magazine’s 18th annual Museum Day.
The event takes place on Sept. 17 and will bring free admission to museums nationwide. This year’s theme is “The American Experience.”
“We are so thrilled to be able to bring Museum Day to the public for the 18th year and to once again be able to highlight many of the museums and cultural institutions that make America so special,” said Amy Wilkins, chief revenue officer at Smithsonian Media, in a statement.
Guests can download tickets on the Smithsonian Magazine website beginning on Aug. 15. Each ticket allows the ticket holder plus one guest into the museum for free. One ticket is permitted per email address.
This year’s free museum day is sponsored by The Quaker Oats Company and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
