We are absolutely delighted to report that Max, the Labrador retriever/husky mix, has found his forever home and it’s a perfect match. Congratulations.
The featured pet this week is Dee Dee, a year-old calico cat. Dee Dee is a sweet girl that is playful and affectionate but she can be shy. We believe that once she finds her forever family, she will feel secure and come out of her shell. She is indoor/outdoor but can be an escape artist in hopes of getting outside. She is also spayed, up to date on vaccines and ready to go, so come and meet this nice girl and she if she’s the one for you.
We also have Alice, a two-year old torbi and white cat who is looking for a home with experienced cat owners. She’s a very affectionate girl who adores people and attention, but believes she’s the one in charge. She tolerates dogs but would prefer to be an only cat so she can get all the lovings.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.
The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662. Hours are: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
