Performers from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School will transport audience members to the magical island of Illyria during their upcoming production of William Shakespeare’s romantic comedy Twelfth Night.
The students will perform a musical adaptation whose text was conceived by Kwame Kwei-Armah and Shaina Taub, with music and lyrics by Shaina Taub. Brooke Ditchfield directs, with musical direction by Abigail Chandler, choreography by Ken Romero and a live pit band directed by Stephanie Aurenz.
Performances will take place Feb. 15, 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center located at the high school. Tickets will be available at the door.
