What happens when two great chefs, Nathaniel Wade and Jimmy Alvarado, open a sandwich shop? Unbelievable culinary creations on fresh baked bread. No seriously, Tigerhawk Sandwich Co. is not only one of the few sandwich shops in downtown Oak Bluffs, but you will find the most flavorful, inspired sandwiches here.
Tigerhawk offers artisanal sandwich creations with locally sourced ingredients. Sandwiches are served on Mason Villate bread (from Falmouth) and are big on flavor and fresh local ingredients. You can grab a classic Italian Sub or how about a crispy chicken sandwich? You can choose either Hawk Style, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Bread & Butter Pickles, Lettuce and Ranch or Chad’s Style which is Buffalo Fried Chicken, Blue Cheese Dressing, Bread & Butter Pickles and lettuce.
There are Kobe Dawgs – sizable hot dogs with great topping options. There are Poke Bowls with fresh local fish and veggies. There are also salads and sides to add to the culinary adventure.
If you’re up for something truly different, you can try one of their specialty sandwiches. When I stopped by for lunch, I got the K-Pop Star – Braised Short Rib, Gochwang Mayo, housemade Kimchi and Cilantro. So many different flavors – a truly unique sandwich. It was so good! I think next time I go I will get the Hawk Style Chicken sandwich or maybe I should go for breakfast!
You can get the K-Pop but with two eggs for the breakfast sandwich! Totally mind blowing right! All that flavor first thing in the morning!! I love it! Or, how about the Beach Please – Bacon, Two Eggs, Cheddar, Hash Browns and Tigherhawk Special Sauce. Yum, hash browns on the breakfast sandwich. I love hash browns like these. There are so many delicious options at Tigerhawk.
The goal for Nathaniel and Jimmy is to keep Tigerhawk Sandwich Co. open through December. The chefs are here for the community and want to do their part in providing delicious food with the best ingredients for as long as possible.
Be on the lookout for special dinner Pop-Ups, like ramen or pho or BBQ. Since the owners are chefs, they like to have fun with the food they make for you. There is a lot of creativity in this little sandwich shop on Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs. You see that soon as you walk in.

Author’s Note: Tigerhawk – what a name! I had to find out where it was from, and I got the scoop. Nathaniel and Jimmy were with their girlfriends talking about what to name their shop. They began talking about the guys favorite animals, their spirit animals. Jimmy immediately said tiger. Nathaniel said something silly but his girlfriend Althea reminded him of his love of hawks. And so Tigerhawk Sandwich Co. was born.
