Innovation Arts & Entertainment, the company behind the Beach Road Weekend Music Festival and the MV Concerts Series, will acquire the Martha’s Vineyard Food and Wine Festival, a shoulder-season staple on the Island for 13 years.
The company reached an agreement with the Edgartown Board of Trade, it said in a press release, to take over the festival. The event has been traditionally held in October but will move to May in 2023, with the Edgartown Board of Trade remaining a part of the event.
Innovation Arts & Entertainment also announced that in addition to producing Beach Road Weekend on August 26-28, it will once against host its summer concert series at venues across the Island. The MV Concert Series begins on July 3 with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band playing at Performing Arts Center. Subsequent concerts include Deer Tick at The Loft, Graham Nash at the Old Whaling Church, Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the Performing Arts Center and the Indigo Girls at the Performing Arts Center, to name a few of the 20 shows scheduled during the summer.
Beach Road Weekend takes place at Veterans Memorial Park in Vineyard Haven, with over 29 bands performing over a three-day period, including headliners Beck, Wilco and The Avett Brothers.
