There is no place I would rather be for summer than here on Martha’s Vineyard. There is so much to do on this special Island, while only seven miles off the coast of the Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard feels like it’s worlds away. Join us as we share our Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – Chappy & Cape Pogue Wildlife Refuge
Get ready to really see Chappy with the Trustees. There are a couple of fun ways to do so. Rent kayaks at Dyke Bridge and explore the ins and outs of Poucha Pond, enjoy the natural beauty and quiet of Chappy. You can also sign up for a Trustees’ over-sand adventure to the Cape Poge Lighthouse where you can climb to the top and enjoy 360 degrees of water view. Join us for our MV Bucket List video tour:
While on Chappy, it’s always fun to take a detour. Head to Quammox to find the labyrinth to the right of the road, a little way up from the boat launch.
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – Dining At The Aquinnah Shop
At least once a season, I have to go to The Aquinnah Shop for lunch or dinner. The outdoor patio offers the most amazing water views. Sitting at the edge of the cliffs, you feel like you are somewhere truly special. The food is fantastic too. This is a dining experience that is truly memorable.
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – The Homeport Restaurant & Oyster Bar
The Homeport has been closed since 2018. With new owners and a new chef, the coastal, casual, up-Island vibe is the same but the menu has been modified with updated twists on New England classics. Enjoy the outdoor patio or the rustic inside of the restaurant, either way, you will get to enjoy the beautiful skies at sunset. Check our recent ON POINT MV Blog post about the new Homeport.
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – The Grey Barn And Farm
There is an unparalleled bucolic beauty at The Grey Barn. Stop by the farm stand for fresh baked goods, take home some award-winning cheese made at the farm, fresh veggies, and much more. If you can, book The Splendid Tour and Tasting. With this, you will learn how Grey Barn cheese is made, sample the cheeses offered and more. Here’s a video tour from our Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List series:
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – Standup Paddleboard Sepiessa Point To Tisbury Great Pond Beach
Head to Sepiessa Point on Tisbury Great Pond with your Paddle Board or Kayak and paddle on over to Tisbury Great Pond Beach. It is a long paddle but the beach is worth it. Make it a day-long adventure.
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – Clambake On The Beach
If it’s in your budget, line up Bill Smith’s Clambake to create a memorable beach dinner for you. They come to the beach, cook the food and serve it up buffet style. All you have to bring are your beach chairs, beach tables, some music, and beverages. It is such a fun night. At Point B, we do it for our annual summer kick-off team party. However, if it’s not in your budget, head to Menemsha to create your own. Order the Sunset Dinner at Menemsha Fish Market and enjoy lobster while watching the Menemsha sunset. Join us for our annual clambake at State Beach:
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – Menemsha Bike Ferry
This has been a recent adventure for me, I think the first time I did it was just last year. It was such a Vineyard experience. There is something so beautiful about biking up Island — not to mention challenging with all the hills. The Menemsha Bike Ferry is an easy way to head to Aquinnah or from Aquinnah by ferry. It is the smallest ferry ever, with the shortest ride, but it’s sure to be memorable. If you end up in Menemsha grab a bite from the Galley! The bike ferry is one of the stops in our Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List video “Biking The Vineyard”
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – West Tisbury Farmers’ Market
Since 1974, the West Tisbury Farmer’s Market has been connecting Islanders and visitors alike with fresh produce and Island-made goods. The market has continued to grow and is now a must for so many people throughout the summer. In addition to fresh veggies, seafood, local chocolates, and flowers, enjoy fresh-made bites from vendors including Fantzye Bagels and Stoneyhill Pizza.
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – Dinner On Lambert’s Cove Beach
Though Lambert’s Cove beach requires a West Tisbury beach sticker permit during the daytime, in the evening, you can venture down the meandering path to what is considered one of the most stunning beaches on the Vineyard. Pack dinner and your beach bag, watch the sun set into the water, even go for a night swim. It is sure to be a memorable evening.
Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List For Summer 2022 – Day Trip To Nantucket
Ok, I know we are talking MV here, but it’s so easy to get to our sister Island for a day trip and now there are two ways to get to ACK – the Hy-Line inter-island ferry and the Seastreak. Hop on the boat in the morning and enjoy the whole day meandering the Island. Stroll historic downtown and feel like you’ve stepped back in time. It’s a fun little getaway!
Additional Martha’s Vineyard Bucket List Experiences:
