YARMOUTH — A 22-year-old Sandwich man was arrested Friday morning after his car crashed into the front of a house.
John Grady was charged with operating under the influence of liquor as well as a marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to a statement released by the Yarmouth Police Department.
Yarmouth police were dispatched at about 5 a.m. Friday to Route 6A for a report of a motor vehicle accident. The caller said that a motor vehicle had traveled off of the road and struck a house.
When officers arrived they found a Toyota Camry in the middle of the eastbound traveling lane with heavy damage on the front, according to the statement.
Officers determined that Grady had lost control of the car and traveled over a lawn before hitting the front of a house. Grady was identified as the driver and was transported to Yarmouth Police Department for processing. He was later released on bail.
The house underwent structural damage, and Yarmouth Building inspectors were called to the scene to determine the damage to the house, according to the statement.
