Windstar Cruises is offering 35% off cruises through April 30. Windstar

What’s better than a New England getaway? A New England getaway with a discount.

Ahead, discover travel deals for food, transportation, hotels, and activities across the region this April.

Transportation / Cruises

Amtrak is offering 20% off Downeaster fares for all trains on any day due to a tie replacement project that will result in service modifications and minor delays. No promo code is needed and the deal is valid for travel April 1 to June 30.

Get 25% off flights to Europe with PLAY when booking through April 3 for trips taken between April 1 to 15; May 1-31; and Sept. 1-Dec. 15. Those interested should use promo code PLAY25.

Bluebikes is offering a free $20 credit to help commuters affected by MBTA service disruptions in 2025. Riders can redeem the credit, good for both pedal and ebike trips, by entering the code BLUECROSSMAMBTA in the rewards section of the Bluebikes App. Credits are available while supplies last and must be used by Dec. 31, 2025.

Celebrate the launch of the South Coast Rail service with free South Coast Rail weekend service and parking through April 27. Passengers ride free if boarding or ending their ride at one of the six South Coast Rail stations. 

Travelers from Massachusetts and Connecticut can take advantage of a Resident Offer by Windstar Cruises that takes up to 35% off cruises through April 30. Cruise guests can explore the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, Central America, and more.

Restaurants

In celebration of the Red Sox home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals, South Street Diner in Boston is serving up free all-you-can-eat Fenway Franks with the purchase of any beverage. Snag your dog on April 4 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Kona Ice is offering free shaved ice on April 15 “to make tax day as relaxing as possible.” The promotion is called Chill Out Day 2025 and the free frozen treat will be available at trucks across New England. Find a local truck on the Kona Ice website.

Restaurant Week for Portsmouth and the seacoast in New Hampshire takes place April 10-19. More than 30 restaurants will offer special three course prix fixe menus for $32, $42, and $52.

Seamark inside Encore Boston Harbor is celebrating its one year anniversary with April deals. Those with April birthdays can receive a complimentary Seamark Sundae plus a $10 donation in their name toward cancer research. Between April 6-13, one lucky diner per night will discover a surprise golden ticket beneath their oyster and win a $100 Seamark gift card. 

The Goat in Newburyport has several weekly food specials. Diners get two burgers for the price of one on Mondays and Tuesdays; 25 cent wings on Wednesdays; and a double dog for $4 on Thursdays. What’s more, kids eat free every weeknight between 4 and 8 p.m.

Hotels

Snag free tickets to a Boston museum or attraction and a $50 gift card to Legal Sea Foods during Meet Boston’s “Pick your perk winter promo.” Here’s how it works: Book a two-night stay before April 15 at select hotels in Boston and Cambridge and then, upon check-in, claim your food gift card and two free tickets to the Museum of Fine Arts, the WNDR Museum, or Harry Potter: The Exhibition.

Book a Dine & Stay Special at Stone House Inn in Little Compton, R.I. through April 30 and enjoy 20% off dinner in the inn’s Tap Room Restaurant, a former speakeasy during Prohibition. What’s more, guests who stay two nights receive complimentary wine tasting vouchers to nearby Sakonnet Vineyard.

Extend your springtime stay in Portland, Maine by snagging a free third night at Longfellow Hotel when booking two consecutive nights by May 17. The property was named among America’s best new hotels for 2025.

Get 15% off room rates and a $100 resort credit by booking the Family Adventure Package at The Bethel Resort & Suites in Bethel, Maine by May 16. Families can enjoy game rooms, an outdoor heated pool, hiking trails, and more.

Enjoy a picturesque cottage on Martha’s Vineyard by booking a Captain’s Cottage at Harbor View Hotel by June 12. You’ll get 30% off the best available rate on select cottages plus a $100 provisions credit. A two-night minimum stay is required.

Museums / Attractions / Activities

New England students and residents (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) get $5 off New England Aquarium admission. The offer is not valid on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Families of Boston students can get free tickets to “Riverdance 30 — The New Generation” on Sunday, April 13 through the Boston Family Days program. Check out other venues offering free admission through the program.

Enjoy free admission at all national park sites on April 19 in celebration of the first day of National Park Week. The National Park Service waives fees on seven days throughout the year during special events and holidays.

Attend a free Cherry Blossom Celebration at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University on April 19, which will include taiko drumming, traditional Japanese dance, Japanese games and calligraphy, and other family activities.

The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in Boston offers free admission every Thursday night from 5 to 9 p.m. Advanced tickets are recommended and become available at 10 a.m. the morning of the visit.

The MassArt Art Museum at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston is free every day. The 15,000-square-foot, contemporary art museum is located within an original 1906 campus building that formerly housed the school’s Bakalar & Paine Galleries.
